“FW: URGENT: Tudge leaked personal data to cow welfare critics,” in which Rick Morton continues his incisive reporting on the Robodebt Royal Commission. This is a shocking story, illustrating what cunts Tudge and his colleagues were. https://www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news/politics/2023/02/04/fw-urgent-tudge-leaked-personal-data-cow-welfare-critics
FW: URGENT: Tudge leaked personal data to cow welfare critics

Early on the morning of February 18, 2017, staff of then Human Services minister Alan Tudge saw the front page of The Saturday Paper, dedicated to a story about the death of Rhys Cauzzo, who killed himself after being hounded by Centrelink debt collectors. They immediately went on the offensive.

The Saturday Paper
@stilgherrian “shat cunts” - half way between what cunts and shit cunts
@jpm I am annoyed by my typo and have fixed it. :)
@stilgherrian oh I figured that one was deliberate, with “Rock” Morton being accidental, but is it the other way around?
@jpm Goddammit I am now fixing that one too. This coffee is taking forever to work.
@stilgherrian ah one of those days. I’ll pop the invoice in the post, cheque will be fine.
@jpm @stilgherrian I thought it meant reformed SCs which definitely confused me because nope.
@stilgherrian eloquently put. The whole idea that there is a “loophole” that allows specifically sympathetic journalists to be given private privileged information, is an insight into how both government & journalists see themselves.
@stilgherrian two things that initially confused me about this toot. First, I hadn’t known Cow Welfare was a contentious issue. Second I wondered why you would describe Tudge et al as “shat cunts” when they are in fact, still currently persons of shitcuntery, and likely to remain so. #LanguageIsHard
@Unixbigot Yeah *every* time I see “cow” the very I take a while to get the meaning. But that said, you do need to take care of your cows. They’re valuable.
@stilgherrian @Unixbigot seeing this “bad word” CW out of context my random number generator immediately offered “ungulate” and it was almost right
