Reminder that the way to get your app featured on the App Store is by filling out this formula:

https://developer.apple.com/contact/app-store/promote/

I've submitted that formula for Scriptable, Jayson, Data Jar, and Runestone and they have all gotten featured in some way. Some on the Today tab and some without artwork.

From attending App Store business and marketing labs during WWDC I know that the App Store editorial team will rarely discover your app on their own but they love when you tell them about it.

@simonbs I had absolutely no idea this was a thing. Thanks for sharing!
I should try this. Thank you @simonbs
@simonbs how long do they usually take to answer to the form? I used it last a couple of weeks ago, haven’t heard since…
@nutsmuggler You don't really get an answer. You'll either get featured all of the sudden or get a mail from them asking for artwork but that can take months or years.
@simonbs as I suspected. So they contact you out of the blue when they decide they’ll feature you.
@simonbs how often do you submit the form per app? Once? Periodically?
@rixantos I think I've only ever done it once per app but I would recommend doing it for major updates as well.
@simonbs Runestone rocks by the way, though that d***e... highscore: 5
@simonbs They sometimes feature apps without filling out the form. One of my apps got consistently featured in the “Apps We Love Right Now” and “Our Latest Favorites” carousels. I think they must have flagged it during app review or something because it had only 5 total downloads and zero marketing before being featured.
