If you want people to follow you here on Mastodon, one tip I have is to set your user avatar. People, myself included, are much more likely to follow you back if they can put *some* kind of face w/ a name. Profile banner too but def the avatar. Thx 👍

@gedeonm Does it help if you're wearing a Sox hat? Of course I could never change my avatar, I think I've been using it for about 16 years now.

Not everyone is comfortable putting their picture there and that’s fine.

@jph @dldnh @gedeonm Closest I come to putting my pic up is a drawing of m'self as my online character, though I need to update it as I don't have hair any more.
