All you have to do is be kind to others and care for others.

That’s it.

You don’t need a religion where a God watches and judges every little thing whilst at the same time babies are buried in mud slides. 🖖

God is man made.

That’s it. 🖖

@SpockResists That’s a big YES SIR!

Every EXIT counts..!

@SpockResists

Indeed, God is man made.

@SpockResists I always say about myself that "Science is my God", I don't worship or pray to find faith in my God, but I study and experiment to have faith.
@SpockResists , I am a practicing Christian but agnostic in terms of my beliefs. If there is a God, then I do believe in universal salvation. I think Pascal's Wager is very instructive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal%27s_wager
Pascal's wager - Wikipedia

@SpockResists If the Divine exists, it exists whether we interpret it or not, however we interpret it.
Our interpretations are what are creations of human-kind, not the Divine.
"That which is hateful to yourself, do not do to others. That is the whole of Torah, all the rest is commentary." Hillel the Elder, revered Jewish sage, 1st cen BCE.
Would that internet atheists learn a bit more of the kindness they preach. And that evangelical Christianity is an anomaly, not the norm.

@SpockResists
May I be happy,
May I be healthy,
May I be safe,
May I live with ease.

May you be happy,
May you be healthy,
May you be safe,
May you live with ease.

May all beings be happy,
May all beings be healthy,
May all beings be safe,
May all beings live with ease.

@SpockResists Truth. God was a social construct to explain what could not be explained by the science at the time.

@SpockResists

And yet Leonard Nimoy based much of Spock on his Orthodox Jewish upbringing, including 🖖which was the sign used by the Jewish Priests when blessing their congregants. How can we go forward if we do not know from wence we came?

@SpockResists Why should I be kind to others and care for others if I have nothing to gain from doing it?
@SpockResists ...It is a history book of a time and the example of how people should be good to each other...it also the example of that everyone can write their own books about the great things in their lifes...I have 150 pages and up till age 10-12 with family preamble...got another 50 years to go...
@SpockResists Man made God in his image, and everyone`s image is different.
@SpockResists
Another way 2 define God is 2 consider the Eastern practices (Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Shinto and others) of knowing "god" within themselves as their own consciousness; such as, the Universe is One consciousness (God) & we are consciousness aspects of the Universal One observing itself.
The "God" of Abraham was possibly invented by humans or he was a visitor from another solar system that was a billion yrs older than our Sun.
Either way, he was an invention of God via men then.

@SpockResists A better version: Treat people the way you’d want to be treated if you were them.

That doesn’t mean treating them like they’re the same as you, but understanding their needs and acting accordingly. Some people need a reality check, not kindness. If I’m being an a-hole, I want someone to tell me.

And I’d feel weird if people started being kind to me. I just want everyone to enjoy themselves. But if someone needs kindness, giving it to them is the easiest thing to do.

@SpockResists Perfect reading for today.

In the Episcopal Church, the reading for today was the Sermon on the Mount.

Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

I love the symmetry.

@SpockResists yes!!!! Thank you. I'm so sick of the god narrative. Humans are held back/down by religion. And half the time the people who claim to be religious are just using the Bible to spread their personal hate.

@SpockResists

Nice to see you here, Mr. Spock!

I agree with most of what you've said here. However, I don't see "God" the way you describe "Him".

I see "God" as the ever constant Energy Source that fuels the Universe. I see evidence of "God" in a beautiful sunset, a tree, swaying in the breeze. In the loving support of a good friend.

I've never believed the bearded man in the clouds. THAT is used solely for control via fear.

Looking forward to seeing more from you here. ❤️🐾

@SpockResists it has always baffled me why religious people think that you can’t be a good person without belief in a higher being, that you can’t have a moral compass without some book or arbitrary list of rules guiding you (especially if the first 5 of those rules are of a narcissistic nature)
I firmly believe that people are innately good, and that circumstances, life, misfortune, and influence of others drive them to stray from it.
Religion does not have the copyright on being a good person.
@SpockResists I took my car to get washed yesterday. They did a great job. I gave them a bag of mini eggs as a treat. Felt good 🤗

@SpockResists

That is my religion. Those two words. Be kind.

Let's do that one first, then go from there.
