The problem with the "Rust" prosecution is that it walks in the door unaware how film sets work.

To charge Alec Baldwin as the "shooter" is absurd because he was told the gun was cold (unloaded) before the rehearsal. But the 1st AD handed him the gun - which shouldn't have happened! And the 1st should have held a safety meeting before any weapons arrived on that set.

Man, did the producers - Alec Baldwin wasn't alone - fuck this up. Why aren't any of the other producers being held responsible?

In this bonus episode of our How NOT To Make A Movie Podcast, we discuss Rust - the epitome of how NEVER To Make A Movie.

S2E19: "Rust Makes Our Heads Explode"

It's bad enough people get hurt on film and TV sets. No one should ever die on one. What happened on Rust makes our heads explode.

The How NOT To Make A Movie Podcast

@Alan Somebody is responsible for live rounds being on the set. That such a thing should ever be the case is incomprehensible. I hope that person has been charged with something.

@NotPOTUS34 Indeed! What the flying fuck were live rounds doing anywhere near that set? The Script Supervisor insists that gunfire wasn't called for in the scene to begin with.
@Alan ooh dang! missed the part of it not being part of the schedule. wow
