@QasimRashid It's hard to fathom how that could be true for anyone, but sadly I know it is for far too many. White supremacy is our country's cult, and the indoctrination begins at birth. It takes conscious work to deprogram and oppose it, and so many can't even see it because it's designed to be invisible to those it benefits. We are so broken.

@QasimRashid This time in our history is eerily reminiscent of post-civil war America. The South was defeated. Slaves were freed and became full U.S. Citizens allowed to vote and be voted into office. The white supremacists couldn't handle the FACT that former slaves are 100% human under the Constitution and made every attempt to deny them their Constitutional rights. Bigot 45 in 2016 fed into their hate and here we are.....

Opposition to FDR’s new deal, civil rights laws of the 1960s, and now “anti-woke” censorship of Black history. It’s all about rejecting any responsibility for slavery and rejecting full rights to Black people.

@QasimRashid what fucks me up is that the way Ashli Babbit died was steepedin white privilege, too.

She was crawling through a broken window, trying to breach the barricaded door to the Speaker's Lobby. A USCP officer inside verbaly told her to back off _several times_, then aimed his gun at her and again ordered her to stop.
She didn't even hesitate, and continued to climb in, clearly just assuming that as a white woman she wouldn't face consequences for not complying.

I'm saddened by her death, as I am with any human life cut short, and extrajudicial executions by the police are an epidemic in the U.S., but her demise was THE definition of "fuck around and find out".

But to be fair they are so great at labeling EVERYONE "other". Not just POC. The kids of parkland were pretty damn white but they still have no problem attacking them as the enemy. And Paul Pelosi was turned into a gay 85-year-old having a relationship with a crazy guy. Actual video notwithstanding.
