Car dependency is the opposite of freedom. It takes away our choices & leaves us trapped — & I don’t just mean trapped in traffic. Plus it’s massively expensive, time & space consuming, mentally & physically unhealthy, anti-social, & future-ruining.

Put THAT in a car commercial.

@BrentToderian One of the biggest pollutants in the world now!🤥🤥
@BrentToderian come for the promise of freedom. Stay for the, um, gridlock.
@BrentToderian Private motor vehicles have been associated with financial troubles, breathing problems, feelings of isolation, stress, anger, and a grim sense that it's all falling apart. Do not take motor vehicles with other medication. Talk to your doctor immediately if you are experiencing negative symptoms from motor vehicles.
@BrentToderian I was thinking about this the other day, an realized that while we often talk about pollution in relation to cars, we rarely consider the massive, inefficient consumption of other non-renewable resources - iron, manganese, coal, vanadium, tungsten, cobalt - and soon also lithium, REE and more. And that's just the vehicles.
@BrentToderian no choices at all where I live (rural Alberta, Canada) I'd have to travel 40 miles to access public transit or intercity buses even :( (towns at 20 and 26 miles have cabs within town- very expensive to go out of town; used to have bus connecting the 3, shut down years ago..)
One of the biggest factors in an expected move is for it to be someplace driving is not needed...
@BrentToderian It's called "passenger cell" because of all the freedom it provides to its prisoners.
