Lots of new and updated #Mastodon apps this week, many of which will install and run on the #Mac. After testing them, it’s still the case that if you want an app that feels like it was actually made for the Mac, and isn’t an iPhone app kind of running on the desktop, your only option at the moment (and it’s a quite good one) is @MonaApp.
Speaking of iPhone, on my iPhone I just switched from Metatext to "tooot".
@arossp @MonaApp I’ve never heard of that one. Does it work well on an iPad?
@YudronWangmo @arossp It’s optimized for iPad with features like multi-window, column view, and divide view.
@MonaApp @arossp Good to know. So many good phone apps are crappy iPad apps. I will give it a try.
@YudronWangmo @arossp @MonaApp Hi. Mona works well everywhere. I think you would like it a lot.
@arossp @MonaApp Looks interesting, but the requirement to buy an app for Twitter makes it a wait-and-see until it's released.
@arossp @MonaApp I’ve been playing around with several of the apps on my iPad, haven’t gotten Mona on account of I’m too cheap ;) My favorite so far is the saved Safari Home Screen bookmark of @elk.
@wubfur Elk is fantastic, and easily the best web front end for Mastodon. But I just tend to have a preference for genuinely native apps over web clients or PWAs.

@arossp any recommendations for #android ?

I like @elk a lot but wanna try whatever is out there 🙂

@MonaApp How do I install on my Mac? I have it running on my iPhone, but Test Flight doesn't allow me to install on my Mac.
@arossp I would use that if I had a Mac; I don't, though I wish I did.
