2/ Music composer Scott Joplin died in 1917, but his music lives on. During the 1940s, ragtime enjoyed a resurgence. During the 1970s, ragtime entered the U.S. consciousness with *The Sting*, starring Paul Newman & Robert Redford. Before he moved to NYC, Scott Joplin made his home in Sedalia, MO, which has its annual Ragtime Festival in his honor. The 2023 festival is scheduled for May 30-June 3. https://tinyl.io/7k28
