It's not great, either, but some of that is due to the lag and latency you have to get used to when using #Matrix. I wonder how much of that is caused by everyone using the flagship matrix.org service as their home server? If more folks ran their own servers, would that latency decrease or increase?

@ramsey when a friend hosted for like five people it was laggy and the decryption quite unreliable, don't remember the name of the server software though
