Journalism 101: He’s not “alleged” anymore.
Progress!
@froomkin I can still picture that arrogant creep sitting in that office with his feet on Pelosi's desk. And he made some snide remarks, as I recall, about what being in there. Hope his sentence when it comes is not a wrist-slap but real punishment.
@froomkin 🤦 "alleged" journalist
@thomasc @froomkin The journalist doesn’t write the headline.

@froomkin

Take him off 'a ledge',
And put him 'in cell.'

@froomkin Yeah, it's getting really carried away when the media still says "alleged" after the conviction.
@froomkin it it not an entire profession to write accurate headlines independently of the active author? They literally had one job.
@froomkin considering the photographic evidence, he never was alleged
@froomkin you've never heard the old legal maxim "innocent despite proven guilty"?
@froomkin well, the journalist is tho' 😎
@froomkin CONVICTED. Perhaps someone needs to send him a dictionary?
@froomkin This is exactly the type of journalistic ignorance and/or sloppiness that makes me grind my teeth to nubs.
@froomkin 😩😩 he's on camera and was found guilty. 😒
@froomkin Guess the author saw your post. :)
@froomkin allegedly convicted…..
@froomkin Meh. I don’t think that’s as bad as Ars Techinca referring to ransomware attackers’ ill-gotten takings as “profits.”
@froomkin thank you. Can't tell if it's bad civics, bad writing, or just stupidity. In any event, it needed to be pointed out.
@froomkin He’s not a rioter, either. An insurrectionist, perhaps a domestic terrorist, but not a rioter.
@froomkin They also should have called him an insurrectionist, not a rioter.
