Wanted to give a shout out to @jsbilsbrough and @crossedwires for having me on their latest podcast episode to talk about the end of the Twitter API and Twitterrific. Gave me a chance to vent about Elon’s capricious decision and express how *amazing* our users are. Thank you, James.

Ollie, Space Karen, and an API

James is joined by Iconfactory principal and designer, Gedeon Maheux to talk about the week that saw Twitter nuke API access for the 3rd party apps such as Twitterrific.

Crossed Wires
@gedeonm it was my absolute pleasure, thank you for being so willing to chat openly about it all.
@gedeonm @jsbilsbrough @crossedwires Oooh! Didn’t know about this. Instant Subscribe!
@gedeonm @jsbilsbrough @crossedwires loved the podcast. I do feel you probably shouldn’t have compared past Twitter with current Twitter. Past Twitter had a bunch of people deciding what was in the best interests of the company and it’s users. Current Twitter has one man trying to find a way to recoup some of the 44 billion dollars he overpaid.
@Craktok @jsbilsbrough @crossedwires Yep, it’s true but it shouldn’t be that way.
@gedeonm @jsbilsbrough @crossedwires agreed. I was a massive Twitter user but I’ve been driven away to mastodon by Musk.
@Craktok @gedeonm @crossedwires part of what made latter-day Twitter tolerable was third party apps, muffle and mute filters were so valuable.
@jsbilsbrough and even just the chronological timeline with no “promoted” tweets.
