It has taken me quite some time to find an #email provider that fits my needs:
- privacy focused
- support for 1+ custom domains
- support for 2+ users
- very low traffic
- very low cost

Basically a family email domain for private use. These plans mostly don’t exist f.e. at protonmail.

Finally found it with #migadu. Simply amazing offer for 1.6$/month.

@martinjuhasz how about hosting it yourself and just adding an smtp gateway gateway service?

@tha

I’m basically a #selfhosting advocate, but #email is that one thing i recommend always against. It’s not worth the hassle. It simply doesn’t work.

@martinjuhasz works fine for me. Local server with basically unlimited resources, protected by an antispam service that protects the entire domain (unlimited email addresses) and serves as outbound proxy

@tha thats nice. I hear mostly a different story from other people. Email has become a monopoly and fighting this is not worth my time.

Then also my one domain is quite old with 1000+ accounts in my password manager and 20+ breaches listed.

If i have to use an external antispam provider, the biggest benefit of selfhosting it is gone: privacy

“Google's monopoly power over who gets to send email is no joke. Try running a small email server and staying in Gmail's good graces. As in so many other areas (including the web), Google has made itself the de facto regulatory body over what was once a decentralized protocol”

@martinjuhasz This looks quite amazing! First time I see this!

@martinjuhasz Interesting, how do they do DKIM?

I'm quite happy with #Runbox for my #email:

@nemobis they do DKIM+ARC simply with some keys for your DNS, same as SPF and DMARC. I think they even offer DNS if wanted, but i did not test that.

They also support a ton of other features like subdomain addressing and plus addressing.
