@marc_eu Runbox are notoriously slow at updating/improving their offering - Runbox 7 is a prime example.
I think you'll be safe with them for a few years.
@runbox
Last week Fastmail introduced MCP as an option, with which AI agents have full access to all user data (emails, contacts and calendar).
Because email is an open (un-encrypted) protocol I cannot fully control if my emails are read by AI when the recipient uses AI.
What I don't want is that my email provider will make it *easy* for AI agents by offering MCP (or other AI access protocols).
So I will stop using Fastmail and am considering going back to Runbox.
BUT, that depends on if you will not one day do the same as Fastmail?
Or will you stay always true to the privacy claims, and *not* make it easy for AI to access data your user's data?
Runbox status update:

In the past months I've been migrating :
✅ 6 e-mail accounts, 50+ e-mail aliases to @runbox - I've tried Proton as well, but for now I value having access to e-mail via standard protocols such as IMAP/SMTP
✅ @Vivaldi on desktop both home, work and on mobile
✅ Migrated to @thunderbird as my e-mail client
✅ Migrated to @jottacloud for cloud storage and backup
✅ Using encrypted SSD for local backups. Important files I don't want to loose
So far so good. I miss having opensource choices for e-mail clients on iOS.
