I’ve been #knitting this Debbie Abrahams mystery #blanket since last March and I’m at the kind of bored with it stage. Though I keep saying I’m going to knit something else for a while and then carrying on with it! I’m at 30/49 squares completed now. Future-me would probably like it if I stopped to sew some ends in though!
@nocto it’s going to look amazing when you’re done though
@nocto I like to knit and weave in ends several times while knitting. I make it a pause that refreshes. That's usually when I take pix to post of the WIP too.
@KarenStrickholm yes, that’s my usual kind of sewing in ends workflow too. This project has so many that they are overwhelming me and I’m mentally shunting them off into a project of their own. Which makes no sense. I’m sure I’ll regret this!

@nocto

Hahaha! I feel you. Maybe set yourself up with a lovely bottle of wine and a gourmet snack platter, make it more fun... ? Stephen West has a #youtube video up on his loose ends technique he calls the "Weavin' Stephen." You knit in ends and trim as you go. Only thing I don't like is there is no knitting of The yarn. I'm always afraid those unsecured ends are gonna unra El, you know?

@nocto @KarenStrickholm I feel you too! I’ve got a blanket from 2018 that I still haven’t woven in the ends of, and it’s in semi-regular use 🤣 I’m running a KAL this year, if you’d like to join? Just use #AYYKCAL23 when you post and we will cheer you on. Only rule is it has to be a blanket - weaving in ends counts 😉
@AsYetYarns @nocto Well yes I need a blanket actually. Is there a link, and when does it start?
@KarenStrickholm @nocto it started in Jan and will run til Dec. No link. Just post the tag #AYYKCAL23 on any images of your blanket to join in 😉 I look forward to seeing it!

@AsYetYarns @nocto

Thank you! I've been thinking about doing this one... I like the tailored look of it. He also has a mohair fade one that I like, but I don't see it on Ravelry.

@KarenStrickholm @nocto that’s really nice! I love the plaid effect it gives
@AsYetYarns @nocto Totally, and I looked at all the pages of other people making that blanket and all the color choices are so interesting. The size of the thing is a bit daunting though!
@KarenStrickholm @nocto I think that’s probably true of most blankets. That’s why my KAL runs for a whole year! I’m managing to knit for about an hour each day, and I recon I’ll have mine finished by November if I keep it up 🤣
@AsYetYarns @nocto Yes I have to factor in my no-knitting months too, usually June through August. It's just too darn hot!! 🔥
@KarenStrickholm @nocto ahh yes! Im never sure whether it will be here… but I’m going to switch to making crochet squares/triangles to make the Kaleidoscope blanket if it does.
@AsYetYarns @nocto Maybe this summer I will try crochet cotton squares. Right now I have five - five!! shawls to complete. When I realized I could knit again I went kinda nuts, casting stuff on.
@KarenStrickholm @nocto I don’t blame you! It’s taking a large portion of my will power to stay faithful to my temperature blanket. There’s at least four more I want to make as well!

@AsYetYarns @nocto I've got my eye on this one as a possibility...

@nocto I will say what you have going on there is very pretty! Hope 2023 is the Year Of Completion for you with this project. 💞☺️🙏
