A reminder that Tot from The Iconfactory folks is an awesome, lightweight text editing app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.

It's one of the few apps that's on my iPhone home screen AND in my Mac's menu bar.

Tot

@ChanceHMiller I’ve never heard of that app. Is it new?

Also, when you do episodes of 9to5Mac Daily, you’ve been forgetting your mastodon username. You only give your Twitter username. Is this intentional?

@KE8UPE It came out in 2020.

And no, it’s not intentional. It’s just hard to break the habit after so many episodes. I got it in there today though!

@ChanceHMiller I didn't join Mastodon to see adverts
@GeorgeWL It’s not an ad. It’s an app that I use everyday, developed by a small team that just had their business destroyed by Elon Musk.
@ChanceHMiller @GeorgeWL Destroyed by Musk? Say no more and let me throw these good folks $20. I have Tot on my MacBook, but I’ve not used it yet. But I will now.
@ChanceHMiller @GeorgeWL I got the one for Apple Watch too. Can’t wait to try this all out!
@GeorgeWL @ChanceHMiller Yeah, same. I hate it when people recommend cool things they like within their area of expertise. /s
@ChanceHMiller You know what I really hate about Iconfactory? They dont't make their amazing apps for Android...😢
@ChanceHMiller Tot is the app I rely on most and I cannot imagine my day without it. Bought it and never regretted a single moment. An app so simple, elegant and reliable is truly something to behold! Very, VERY much recommended.
@brianrkf @ChanceHMiller Hoe does it compare to the built in Text edit app or macromates TextMate?
@brianrkf @ChanceHMiller 23,99€, is this an early April fools?
@ChanceHMiller this is one of my most used apps across all of my devices.
Tot is a fantastic app and incredibly useful. Worth every penny and a good way to support The Icon Factory.

@ChanceHMiller @bigzaphod Tot is awesome. Perfect for ephemeral stuff.

I only regret that I already bought it (both for Mac and iOS) a year ago so this can't be my "support Iconfactory" effort. 😅

@ChanceHMiller Same. I use it all the time. Completely worth $20.
@ChanceHMiller I got very excited over this until I saw the iOS pricing....
@ChanceHMiller I’ve been using it on Mac for years but it very quickly became a spot to store code snippets, etc. that I use regularly. Not ephemeral stuff like I think it was intended. Since it seems like I’m “holding it wrong”, can you give examples of how you use it, especially on iOS?

@ChanceHMiller @chockenberry

I use Tot every. Single. Day. Such a great app!
