"I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking."

#Thread of #Historical #NFO

Sporadically, I work on my #Genealogy. My G-Grandfathers arrived in #NovaScotia on the immigrant ship, "Murdock". Aboard were 269 #settlers, 29 died enroute (25 Jun--31 Sep 1751), from #Rotterdam to #Halifax

I trace this family back 9-gen, to #KleinHeubach #Germany
where George Zinc Married Barbara Schal in 1643.

A custom, among my ancestors of German background; repeat names. ZINC line follows suit. Also, depending on literacy of historical recorders, #ZINC, ZINK, #ZINCK are the same family name.
Murdock ship landed in #Lunenburg, but homesteads and land were more in the area of the Garden Lots, a mile from town. (burbs😂 )
GARDEN LOTS, is 2kms east of the town, where the Zinc family owned land. In subdividing to children in a last Will: a mention of a lot 30 acres. #Thread (start point) #Genealogy
@Rasta I'll have to show this to my boss. He is a Zinck and I believe his family is from that area.
@Erin In Nova Scotia, all Zinck come from tis line. I used to know all the names around here, back when I started doing this, in late 80s. It's the furthest line I can trace from original immigrants. Now I am retracing the homesteads and history behind their Wills and towns and paths and mentions to make the full story and maybe help find other names , records lost forever
