@20002ist @JoshuaHolland I actually didnt quit noisily. I ghosted.
@Dahlialith @20002ist @JoshuaHolland I did not quit at all. I work off of lists and the usability of Twitter has not changed at all for me. No extra "hate speech" etc. Nothing. And Twitter remains one hell of a lot more usable than Mastodon. Going from Twitter to Mastodon is like abandoning a Porsche and buying a used Toyota Corolla off of a street corner. Musk is garbage, but a lot of the dialogue is seriously overblown.

@bmaz @Dahlialith @20002ist

Seems like you're concerned about your experience but don't seem to realize that you're supporting Musk's project. I wish I could do that too but I can't bring myself to do so as he turns Twitter into a giant red-pilling machine.

If decent people left en masse, it wouldn't take long for Twitter to go bankrupt and end up being run by a boring corporate CEO who isn't motivated by ludicrous conspiracy theories.

Classic collective action problem.

@JoshuaHolland @bmaz @Dahlialith ethicly minded people will stay here and make it work. Over time the fediverse wins. Just like other open source projects server room, the web, web software, email, search infrastructure, Wi-Fi routers, microprocessors, CNC, robotics, space exploration, basically anywhere there is commodity functionality, open source wins. The fediverse is next. I never invested much in #twitbook, so I haven’t lost much. I feel for you and others who did and have strong moral convictions. A share those convictions. In time, like all the above areas, fediverse will be better. In time.

@imklg @JoshuaHolland @Dahlialith So, if I do not abandon the far more functional platform I am not "ethically minded? Seriously? What a load of preachy garbage. I have a day job and am not getting any younger, I don't have time for this. If Mastodon can improve itself significantly, maybe I would make a full switch. They not only are not improving, doing so seems to be against their stated ethos.
@bmaz @JoshuaHolland @Dahlialith you said you didn’t understand. I shared my motivation, clearly saying, in my mind. Etc.
@imklg @JoshuaHolland @Dahlialith No, I never said that I did not understand. And you specified "ethically minded" people, not yourself.
@bmaz @JoshuaHolland @Dahlialith again I apologized and explained my statement.
