I had COVID over New Year’s and finally tested negative 1/2/23. I have not had a solid full meal since Christmas week. My post covid symptoms involve an absence of appetite, lack of hunger signals, and reduced sense of thirst. The act of eating is incredibly unpleasant the sensation of chewing food is uncomfortable and I have all sorts of weird food aversions including meat and salt. I’m struggling and failing at adequate nourishment and I’m experiencing a lot of symptoms of malnutrition.
@Tanya_everywhere Oh, it’s a miserable time. When I had COVID, the actual act of chewing and swallowing activated my gag reflex. It lasted about a month. You seem to be much more extreme, but I sympathize with you. What does your doctor say?
@MMGirlfriend I went for labs today and they took for 15 tests including liver enzyme, hormone levels, CBC, glucose, and vitamin panel but they have no idea. A close friend is having the same issue after having COVID two or three weeks before me. I definitely had the new variant as did my friend. My partners appetite is reduced but not to any impactful level. It’s so bizarre and maybe the most upsetting thing is that food is devoid of any pleasure or satiation.
