Republicans have nothing of substance to talk about, so they're pretending that President Biden is going to break down your door and haul away your gas stove. Maybe he's hooking up a trailer to his Corvette?

Look at all of these states that have made sure that individual cities can't pass climate-friendly legislation to prevent gas stoves in new construction. Not taking anything away – if you want to move into an apartment with a gas range, you pick an apartment built before 2019 or 2027.

(The graphic is from 2022. Only the states that are red on this map have passed laws preventing gas bans. Michigan's legislation didn't pass and former Pennsylvania Gov. Wolf vetoed that state's bill.)

I like gas cooking too. I shrugged when I found the right condo and it was electric, not gas. Now that I've learned about the climate and health issues of gas, I'm glad I have electric.

As a super liberal who is surrounded by super liberals, not one time has anyone ever identified gas stoves as our next hill to do battle.
We’re all still caught up with disenfranchised voters and the right to our bodily privacy etc.

Here you are talking about the important things we should be focusing on, and all most of them seem to be replying with is 'but mah gas stove!'

Fuck the gas stoves. I don't care what I'm cooking on until we get equal voting rights for all and bodily autonomy.

The point of Maria’s post and MJ’s reply, as I’ve talked to both, is that NOBODY is coming to take your damn gas stove, not that liberals are overreaching.

@TonyStark @AgentCarter_SSR @MariaHill @MJ no one is coming for anyone’s gas stove, no one is coming to take their guns, no one is coming to take their hamburgers, no one is coming to take their trucks,no one is coming to do any of the things FOX tells their uninformed base to be afraid of constantly. Same pattern, different fear flavor of the month. All they have to sell is fear to keep the base in line.

Which is another MAGA technique they learned from Goebbels “accuse your enemies of doing that which you are actually doing”. People who have studied history can see the obvious similarities between NAZI propaganda and the current MAGA movement.

And trump uses it ALL THE TIME, accuses others of doing exactly what he is already doing, ergo, voter fraud....when several Repubs have been caught doing it, most recently in Iowa with the wife of a losing candidate is charged with at least 23 counts of voter fraud. Since she is a Repub, I'm wagering she does zero time. Probation. carry on.
