@GottaLaff Republicans have a track record at least back to the 1990s of making moral outrages over things they are doing sub rosa. Back then it was Republican House Members trying to outlaw homosexual pickups. Then one of them was arrested for trying to pick up a man in a public men's room in Florida.

@MPgh @GottaLaff Hmm. CNN def took a hard right turn. But I like WaPo & occasionally NYT. IMO headlines (not written by the reporters) are problematic, as are the conservative opinion pieces. Of the 2, NYT is more conservative, but they employ investigative reporters all over the world and do excellent work. WaPo has reliable political reporting. There are plenty of other good publications of course, for deep dives (Mother Jones, The Atlantic, Vanity Fair, The New Republic, Jacobin...)

@[email protected]@[email protected] Oh, I still subscribe to the NYT and WaPo. I guess I’m just bitter because I tend to hold them to a higher standard. In the past I considered the NYT the “paper of record” for the US. Now I know better. I’m an over-consumer of some media, including The Guardian (and not the BBC), Raw Story, Mother Jones …. I’m hardly a unique demographic. When I thought I had a lot more time I used to read The New Republic & The Atlantic.

I bet she does ZERO time. They NEVER lock up the Republicans, only the Dems who mistakenly cast a Provisional ballot that wasn't even counted got a black lady 5 yrs in prison. The law should be the same for everyone.
