Home GM thoughts on D&D and the OGL coming up: By now I have seen a lot of statements and announcements from #ttrpg creators and publishers about their plans for 2023. Most of these plans no longer seem to include producing content for D&D given the current information surrounding the new OGL. #dnd #opendnd #pnpde

True, I’ve started running #dnd5e because it’s highly available and accessible. But I’ve continued running it, because of the amazing content and support the community provides. The official modules are nice, but that’s not what enables me to run weekly games, y’all. #dnd #opendnd #pnpde

To me it seems that WotC management seem to have absolutely no understanding how small their own contribution to the flourishing and diverse 5e ecosystem and to my ability to run games is. They have mistaken the product for the community. #dnd #opendnd #pnpde

Bottom line: I have absolutely no problem running something else than #dnd in 2023. I feel for all the #ttrpg creators and publishers whose existence and business model has been endangered by WotC management with their decision. #dnd #opendnd #pnpde

I really want to run a Blades Campaign. I also ordered Agon and I'm waiting for my Brindlewood Bay and DIE Kickstarters.

@dedalusroot you did! Thought maybe you figured something out with your group on what to run next 🙂.

We have a BB game sunday, as they want to try it out (I already played it) and we start next wednesday with Agon. A bit hyped for the latter, tbh.

@penpaperdice Yeah, I really like the premise and wanna see what it's all about. For bigger campaigns and/or homebrews I might look into Monte Cooks Cypher System...

@dedalusroot I need to Play Torments for that. Afaik the Cypher System ist implemented into the Video Game. Other than that, I am not well informed about the system.

My campaign Games right now are more Forged in the Dark, but I am leaving more into Story Games and OSR right now. :)
