Any weird fiction fans here? I'm talking about the real stuff, from Weird Tales of the 1920s/30s.

I got into the genre in the usual way, through Lovecraft. And in the usual way I started exploring work of various writers in his circle, and the work of writers whom Lovecraft admired.

Hashtags for some of the weird fiction writers I like:

#hplovecraft #ClarkAshtonSmith #CLMoore #LeighBrackett #algernonblackwood #arthurmachen #LordDunsany #RobertEHoward #weirdfiction #WeirdTales #SeaburyQuinn

@d4doome I absolutely love the HP Lovecraft style of writing. You don't really see it much nowadays even when people attempt to mimick it. Correct me if I'm wrong but The Cthulhu Mythos Tales has a lot of different authors doesn't it? I have read quite a few of the stories but the stories actually written by HP Lovecraft were always, without a doubt, the best written ones. No offense to the others of course.

@elite Yes, a lot of writers wrote Cthulhu Mythos stories. Some of Robert E. Howard's are very good.

I wouldn't say Lovecraft was the best of the Weird Tales circle (I think Clark Ashton Smith was a slightly better writer) but as far as actual Cthulhu Mythos stories go Lovecraft was the master.
