We've got Big Data and Big Code, but what about Big Theory?

It can feel like quantitative human geographers don't have a voice where theory is concerned, which is weird.

1. We're just like the rest of human geography. We like theory.

2. Big data + big code (i.e. methods) can only get you so far—theory is the essential secret sauce!

Super grateful for my special corner of the geography discipline and especially CURDS and Newcastle Geography. Special thanks to Jessa Loomis, Danny MacKinnon, David O'Sullivan @caitrobinson @Smmanson for all the thoughtful insights and feedback. 🥰🥰

@rsfrankl I needed this paper so badly when I was fighting with my committee about whether my dissertation had enough theory in it or not years ago! Great work
