Warm weather in Kyoto meant I was able to go for a nice walk around town yesterday and listen to some interesting talks for my #AcademicRunPlaylist! (1/4)
First was a good panel summarizing the state of #AI #regulation in the #US and #EU at #Northwestern University with Rashan A. Colbert, @jeannamatthews, Ben Rossen, Sandra Wachter, and Laura Pedraza Farina. Lots of ground is covered here, although the coming months will see proposed regulations in both geographies likely change from the forms discussed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6eX1T7NPbw (2/4)
AI Regulation: Will U.S. and E.U. Approaches Lead to Fairness and Accountability?

Next was a deep qualitative examination of #India's business friendly orientation by @rkadelhi at the University of #Michigan. I especially appreciated the recent historical analysis of changes to India's approach to multinational #business and #investment in general https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wahyalA1LAo (3/4)

Last was an intriguing talk by Carlos Gershenson on the slower is faster effect at the @sfiscience. There are some fascinating examples here showing that slower individual action can lead to faster group performance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEnsPUfa7tw (4/4)
Festina lente (the slower-is-faster effect)
