Shitposts are important ecosystem barometers for banter; an early warning guidepost to approaching the maximal allowed discourse.
Without shitposts, you have no constantly governed North Star in your community because you have no measure of its distance – only shallow and stricting fear of nonconformity. Like fish that choke without oxygen from water burbling over brooks, without shitposts your dreams of a blooming dialogue will dry into a wasteland.

(Edit: Shitpost in this instance is a Twitter term for out-of context random posting without a larger purpose or theme. Think dril)

@SwiftOnSecurity by definition, a #shitpost is "a deliberately provocative or off-topic comment posted on social media, typically in order to upset others or distract from the main conversation."

I'm perfectly happy to have a social media that discourages it.

If you miss #shitposting I'm certain you can get your fill on the #birdsite as well as some others I won't be using.

calling shitposting "modern Dada" is an ill-fitting comparison at best, I'll admit, but the underlying mentality, the nihilistic approach to society, the rejection of convention in favor of the absurd and irrational...these things all feed into both forms of art

and make no mistake: quality shitposting is fucking ART
