Socks are hell.

Exceptions:

1. Socks worn under footwear are a necessary evil.

2. Handmade knitted woollen socks are the intersection between a warm hug and a beautiful sunrise and a kitten who wouldn't let anyone else pet it but immediately crawls into your lap and purrs when you meet it and an interesting but accessible math concept that leaves you feeling at one with the universe when you learn it (but I would still rather not wear them).
