Been wanting to post about this book, but keep forgetting. Anyways, here's my rec that you all should read Ahmed Sadaawi's Frankenstein in Baghdad.

It takes place in the middle of Baghdad bombings where a junk dealer stitches together random body parts, but a soul without a body takes it becoming an Iraqi made entirely out of Iraqis.

I especially like how it delves into folklore around St. George.

@yddy @bookstodon Yes, I've read both versions and the translation is quite good. Its one of my favorites that I keep going back to.
