I need your help...

Every day I put out a post to encourage people to Toot about their lives. Mundane or interesting.

I do this is to keep the social aspect of Mastodon alive. It's easy to forget, in a world of niche content, all of the things that make us who we are.

When we share our lives, we can see ourselves in others. We can see what makes us different, and yet the same.

That's beautiful.

So PLEASE, if you see any of my boosts with #today in it, BOOST it.

Let's keep Mastodon social.

@Mrfunkedude Aloha Mr. Dude. My hobby since I retired is thing-finding. I walk in the park every morning and at first I was picking up litter as I walked to give myself a "mission" But in doing so, I started finding things that normally I would not have noticed. I 've found 5 phones in the last year, lots of toys, coins almost every day, pens, pens, and more pens. 22 lighters that work, Probably 10 pair of sunglasses, and over $350 in paper money ($270 at one time). It's become a treasure hunt!
@Mrfunkedude I've found driver's licenses, credit cards, folding knives, weed pipes, a can of thc edibles, wallets, a box of hair dye (!?) unopened food and some of the weirdest things that make you wonder why people would take them to a park. Anything worth money, I try to find the owner. All the phones were returned, and drivers licenses. I post items on Craig's List lost and found almost every week. I also keep a calendar and a journal listing what I've found and my attempts to send them home
@carfreesince93 @Mrfunkedude I love doing same though lose things just as quickly 🀨πŸ€ͺ
@carfreesince93 @Mrfunkedude in a small Iowa town I’d only find litter and dog poop.
@Steve_Hill @carfreesince93 Toot about why you think that it's like that.
@Mrfunkedude @carfreesince93 Must admit to hyperbole. My small town park is very nice. There is a picnic area. Children, pets are free to run around with min. supervision. If a kid needs to go there is a toilet available. Pets just do what pets do. No enforcement incentive to pick up what pets leave behind. Some owners do. Some don't. Litter is mostly picked up and put in a barrel. Some can't quite make it there to drop a paper plate into it. I've never found money, glasses or phones, though
@Mrfunkedude Although its a very nice park in the daytime, at night there's a fair bit of drinking and some drugging. (I've only come across one syringe, but several weed pipes and a glass meth pipe). People get high and lose their stuff. Kids lose their stuff. Teens cut through the park on their way to school and lose their stuff. But there's some weird stuff no amount of imagining will cover.
