good morning fellow #gameDev #indieDev.

2023 is upon us :). Time to set your goals. Don't set too many, or too detailed or they will end up be overwhelming :)

My gamedev goals for this year

1. Publish 2 games (might be hard but I will sure try)
2. Push a big patch to my previous game (Dice tribes: Ambitions)
3. Participate in all #ludumdare as I always do.

Whats yours ?

@ZwodahS looking forward to seeing your stuff this year. 🙂

@ZwodahS My #GameDev goals for this year:

1. Add farming/harvesting and a player inventory to our game
2. Add animations to objects in the world
3. Host it somewhere I can leave online overnight (Raspberry Pi?)

Optionally, have people other than me and my daughter playtest the game to see if it's any fun.

@ZwodahS To get to a more balanced and sustainable pace for game dev, instead of cycling between going really hard and burning out.

@midnightspire Are you working on your game full time ?

The way I handle this is to just track my time. I have a small time tracker that tracks how many hours I work each day.

This allows me to actually gauge my productivity but also let me know that "hey today you have worked 10 hours, perhaps take a break :)". I also set a goal for each week on how many hours I want to work(35 - 45hr). This allow me to enjoy my free time with less guilt :)

Of course, the hours goes up nearer to launch day.

@ZwodahS No, it's just a hobby that I do in my free time. Tracking the time I spend might be a good idea.
