*Zagreus voice* Okay. One more time.
And I'm done (and have corrected minor things. Sorry for the repost.)
Yesterday's and today's work. I'm pretty pleased!
Phew. I admit I feel a bit dizzy after drawing three characters in two days. Don't get me wrong, I loved it! But it is quite a bit exhausting...
Now which character do I draw next? Maybe my female Ferengi?
(After spending some more time with the old characters and finish them. They don't look as polished and cool as these three.)
Worked a on the Trill Counselor. I think they are done now!
Have to admit I'm struggling quite a bit with the soft and hard pastels. Detail work is so hard with them! Maybe I should invest in some pastel pencils...?

And still I ask myself: How do I do this? How do I even start?!
Well, I start something like this.
The first humble layer. A long way to go from here.
Second layer. Time for some fixative.
Third layer. If you don't know what to do, do background work!
Also, did you know noses don't exist? It's true! There are no lines in the face that say "here begins the nose". It's all just three-dimensionality and magic!
Fourth layer. Working on the details now, eyes, lips, shading.
Fifth layer is the fun layer! Adding in all the big and small highlights, small shading et voila!
I'm finished!
I think it's not my strongest one, but it's way, way better than the previous version!
Oh no. I misplaced the references I used for our XO. So... let's dive into the rabbit hole one more time!
Okay. Got some references, got some ideas. But I'm also tired... Let's see if I can do this!
And here he is, all grey and smirking!
And here are all the 6 drawings I did so far. I am pretty pleased!
Ugh. You can definitely tell that the reference I used for the Cardassian was not that awesome. Maybe I'll work some more on that one, one day.
The first shade layers are down.
*unintelligible curse words*
Here's the final version after minor corrections.
As I'm a sucker for process pictures and I took some with this drawing, here they are!
Promise I'll stop posting about this one.
I am afraid. Hope this goes better than the Cardassian.
First layers are down. Maybe it'll work.
Some more shading is done.
And here she is, I am done!
Pushing through the fear to mess everything up is quite thrilling!
And quite exhausting. *lies down on the sofa*
She's looking right at home with the rest of the crew. Love it!
Please enjoy some stages of this drawing's process!
My current recipe for better portraits: add more red. Way more red. And then some light blue. And a hint of olive green!
(No, seriously. I seem to favor yellow as a light to medium skin color and forget about all the other colors, and this totally helps.)
This is the current crew! There's still one character missing, and I think I'll also redraw the Cardassian. Third time's a charm, right?
Okay, let's try to get the drawing session started.
