KateKayleyFlyMy partner and I are embarking on a new and fun project. We are going to attempt to build a circular sock knitting machine #CSM from 3d printed parts. Here is a pic of one of the gears. I will post updates as we progress.
Another thing I did wrong was that I did not sand the slots in the cylinder well enough so that the needles fell very freely. I made the mistake of beginning with the 72 slot cylinder, and so now I am making the second attempt with the 48 slot cylinder. If I can get it to work then I will resand the bigger one. With the new cams.
I noticed that many folks have used steel cams, and those are fairly unobtainium for me. So I am making the cams stronger by soaking them with glue and filing smooth.
