keeps vis.social running@drvolts omg I get so many eye rolls from family about anything I call out as nonsense scientifically...or even how horrible they pronounce baklava on that baking show...or how real lab equipment is usually beige and how skulls don't naturally have a cut across the top...and on and on...I really wish media would pay even slightly more attention to reality
@drvolts and I recall this one moment, during my second degree...when the university had brought in a photographer, to feature a young man, into the lab I was working in.
The photographer wanted me to move my work so that he could stand on my work bench.
And then insisted that the subject hold up a vial above his eyes....massive lab safety violations!
The photographer not only disrupted my own work, but insisted on 'sexing up' the photos. And dangerous lab practice.
