@moshboy @neauoire curiously this mapping never took into account the ol’ platformer method of resting one’s thumb over both square (run) and x (jump) simultaneously, which was pretty ubiquitous in the NES and SNES era. Though granted this wasn’t used as much when gaming moved over to 3D!

@Jickelsen @moshboy @neauoire however, it matches the semantics of the SNES controller which has A on the right ("OK") and B to the bottom ("cancel"). I remember Frank Cifaldi talking about letting players of Digital Eclipse NES ports swap bottom-and-right mapping with left-and-bottom, because "we're not savages" or something like that. I think the Switch Online NES app also allows that?
