Which keycap set to put on this? Not sure I’m really crazy about any of them, probably the 2048 (last one) but might be kind of boring.
Switches finally in place and fully tested.
I think came out alright…
@paul nice! MT3 or SA?
@thevowel MT3 dasher.
@paul no wonder it looked familiar! I built my wife a Dasher keyboard after the Kraken colors were announced.
@paul i hope you force modded that thing or else you're prepared to suffer the pinginess of that frame
@trwnh I never do any of that stuff, I doubt it’ll bother me.
@paul if it does, all it takes is a few layers of masking tape in each corner to isolate the top frame from the bottom frame -- it's an easy win for making the keychron q series sound better
@trwnh I’ve been using Leopold FC660Cs for the last few months, so I expect to be so deafened by the navy/jades that I won’t even notice any pinging.
@paul Do you keep an Apple one around for touch id? When using a 3rd party one always miss that feature.
@paul happy new year, Paul. Thanks for making Mastodon more intuitive and delightful to use
@paul possibly the most ideal keyboard chassis of all
@paul amazing switch choices, I love my box jades.
@paul good pick! I mix jades and navies in exactly the same fashion in my builds. Feels just right.
@paul What is the idea with the different kind of switches on the board?
@paul the blue keyboard has heavy severance vibes, so that one
Data General 6053 - Terminals

@css @paul it's really cool [edit]but i like the original colors before the inversion
@elroy they did a limited release in the "correct" colorway https://drop.com/buy/dasher-and-dancer-sa-custom-keycap-set

@paul The blue one has a kind of Symbolics Lisp Machine vibe.
@paul top right looks dope.
@paul the second one — blue, white, and gray.
@mike @paul Same, although I do like that last one, too.
@paul the last one looks awesome, love the retro mac aesthetics
@paul 2048 looking the best in my opinion
@paul I like the colors and lettering in the 2nd one a lot, but it bothers me at a fundamental level that CAPSLOCK is not 2 words. So, the 4th one.
@paul I have the MT3 2048 (not the fun colors; I hate fun) and it’s excellent.
@paul oh hey I have a photo:
@paul Ivory! (Photo attach take two)
@paul I own the first one. Love it. Looks better in person.
@paul *taps sign* https://mvkb.com/ (no MT3 profile though)
MVKB

Keycaps and keyboards designed by @maxvoltar.

@maxvoltar I really like high profile caps though.
@paul Out of those, I’d go with 2048
@paul Yes, the last one!
@paul I have the last one (no color keys version, most boring!) and would never go back to anything else.
@paul I’ve got the 2048. It’s a good, understated set and it’s been on my keyboard for over a year. I’ve found I get tired of “louder” sets quickly.

@paul I've been enjoying the last one so much! Can’t stop touching them.
@marchbox how do you like the Q10? I’ve got it on order from Drop for delivery next year.
@paul I really like it for its 75% Alice layout (build quality is pretty good for its price and I’m not too picky on keyboards). I bought Q8 when it came out, but I use tilde, backtick, and ESC all very frequently for coding, so Q10 is much better with easy access to them. I did buy the bare bone version though, with Kailh Midnight Pro Silent Linear switches (although I like Keychron Silent K Pro switches better, which I use on my Q8), and of course my own keycaps.
@marchbox you had to get the extra space bars for that right?
@paul Yup! I got Alphas, Spacebars, Modifiers, Accent Modifiers, Icono, and Media Icons.

@paul I’m a hardcore fan of 2048’s aesthetic.

Have you considered a cherry profile? GMK Striker would look really fun on your white board.

@paul I own and love 2048. If you like higher profiles, you should dig MT3, and specifically the texture of this set.
@paul I have the cyber one. and its my daily driver
@paul I'm very fond of the 2048. Subtle, not boring.
@paul Seems like every option is a MT3? Good choice, love this profile. Using the 3277 ErgoDox myself at the moment as DailyDriver with Colemak-dh Layout. Have the Cyberpunk Set for my Gaming-Keeb and besides that the Susuwatari and the 9009 to switch if wanted. Only searching for the /dev/tty, at least the Colevrak-Kit, and if possible the ErgoDox-Kit. What switches do you prefer?
