JuliaThis is yesterdays #threegoodthings written in the quiet hum of a house where a family of snorers are occupying every corner because I’ve woken up in need of a wee and some dehydration and I heard the youngest stir and I don’t want to wake her so I’m sitting quietly in the kitchen in need of something to do.
1. Lola (my niece) loved what she calls her gingerbread cottage and worked out she could leap through the window, bounce on the bed her parents are sleeping on and off back onto her ready bed. It was an absolute joy to watch.
2. My dad who wasn’t intending to come over until this afternoon just couldn’t resist knowing that his daughters and granddaughter were 5 minutes away baking (and in his opinion not putting enough salt in things!) so turned up yesterday afternoon and is snoring away like a warthog on the living room sofa and even though I can tell he’s definitely smoked in the house overnight I’m so pleased to have him here earlier than anticipated.
3. My Christmas ham came out perfect as did the sausage rolls (declared the best he has ever had by my sisters fiancé much to her disgust 😂), the mince pies and all the other Christmas baking. The chocolate covered strawberry reindeers with pretzel antlers may leave a little to be desired but my niece loved dipping herself and them in chocolate so it’s all worthwhile 😊.
