A Curious Histonian
@etebur Totally baffled + context is all… What should I say? What is in this lady’s head…what would be in my head? Thx 4 posting this! 🙏🏻
@etebur @BlackAzizAnansi thank you for sharing Mary’s account of her life and all she endured. As hard as it is to read, it is important that we remember our true history and honor those who lived it. I can’t imagine the bittersweet moment when she and her mother reunited. Sweet that they were together again, and yet still tough with all they’d lost along the way that wouldn’t/couldn’t be restored in this lifetime.
@ericaeby beautifully said 💖 thank you for reading and sharing your wonderful thoughts
@etebur
Mary is a reminder that the past is not some far away, log ago abstract concept. There are people alive right now who were alive when Mary was.
@Catmama well said and 100% true. It definitely puts things into perspective, my grandparents were all between 4 and 12 when she was still walking this earth.
@etebur
My mother was 2 years old when that photo of Mary was taken. My mother is still alive.
Thank you for sharing Mary Armstrong's story. I look forward to exploring more of your blog!
