@vwbusguy I never interacted with Commodores... Was always Amstrad, until the Amiga, and once on there used AMOS/Blitz, so never knew about the whole Microsoft "Space-less" thing until last year! Horrific finding that out. It's like "oooh, this is why everyone hated BASIC!"
@Jayenkai Commodore BASIC is also a relatively nerfed BASIC compared to MBASIC on CP/M or DOS as well. IIRC, to save a buck, they licensed a subset of what they could have and that's why there's some glaring things missing like ELSE.
@vwbusguy@Jayenkai I loved Microsoft Quick Basic! Especially the IDE! Compile times were solid, lots of great support. The majority of my university mates used Borland Turbo Basic but I... just never took to it, starting with how QB's IDE used shift-directional arrow to highlight code & Borland did... something else. (Ctrl-L was it?)
