@sfoskett this is normal when two cultures collide . Especially when one is the guest of another because their own culture self destructed. At least there aren't hot takes being quote tweeted and fanning the flames
@Wtime90 @sfoskett @hobs There have been some really lovely people who have been patient with my n00b questions and been welcoming.
But, as I have said elsewhere, in all of my 11 years on Twitter (and all of my social media experience going back to LJ), I have NEVER been told I am unwelcome or that my presence is ruining the space. That has happened here.
@audleyzdarke @Wtime90 @sfoskett @hobs Not to me. The folks over there have been quite open about running Twitter refugees off the platform. It worked on me; I don't want to be associated with it. And if this turns into that, I'll be outta here as well -- life's too short for such drama.
What's wild: I find YouTube the most easygoing of social-media spaces. IDK if it depends more on the videos one watches and the audiences they attract, or if YT has actually gotten rid of a lot of trolls.
