@bryanhansel curious here, why called this sea smoke, rather than fog or mist?
@ProgGrrl that's a good question. I don't know the origin of the term, but it describes a specific type of fog that is formed when really cold air moves over warm water. It only happens in winter around here on the big lake. I imagine it's regional on whether or not it's called sea smoke, steam fog or frost smoke. All of those are different terms that people use.
