@aewens Now musst you ze Feil extrakten. Tipp "tar xzf bla.tgz" into your Konsole.
@aewens tar xtract ze vucking file
@aprzn @aewens exactly what goes on in my mind, thank you.
@aewens if tar is German, then netstat is Dutch.
netstat -tlpn
@aewens shouldn’t it be „kriät sis feil“?
@aewens I'll finally be able to remember this command now!

@aewens exactly!

I once had a colleague who asked ‘what did you say’ when I mumbled ze german tar mnemonic. Apparently I do it out loud

@aewens xtrakt ze vukcing file
@aewens haha, I think they should add this to the man for tar!
@aewens this actually work and is true.
@aewens haha - i also say something when creating tar files: `tar jfc data.tbz data`
@aewens
doesn't work for me, I just mash all three letters in whatever order my fingers get to them
@daedalus
@aewens Curse you. As a #German, I’m now condemned to think of those flags forever in this way from now on.
@aewens Thank you, this I wont be able to unlearn. 😅

@aewens

odd, that's not file specific.

`z` is for compression, can be used for streams as well.

@aewens and what an actual German would say is:

"Eks Zet Eff" ^^

although I usually say it "Tarr Eeks Aff Zat" (because I do "tar xfz" and not xzf) ;)

@aewens that's a good one. thank you.
@aewens qcall me weird but I use #bzip2 instead...
