@mastodonmigration @Gargron the Mozilla approach seems a bit misguided if Mozilla today is representative of that model considering they're adding intrusive things to Firefox.

Eugen talks about funding, the crowdfunding model is working really well for Mastodon as a charity already, why not replicate that by making a platform cooperative? If I pay for hosting, I get to vote on the direction of the company. A type of democracy that grounds the company in more ethical behaviour.

@mastodonmigration @Gargron Twitter won't disappear. Musk can damage it but new buyer will restore it. It was viable company before and could be again when Musk leaves. On another note, I'm not convinced Mastodon is built for scale they might want to see it. JMO.
