BethBarnesI followed #JoinIn because Christmas is a lonely and isolating time for me every year, as I am always just an exhausted workhorse, making sure everyone in 2 families is beautifully fed and hosted well, and enjoying themselves, while I cook endless food and clean in the background. Too many difficult dynamics result in me being ignored and I always just want it to be over. And this year my Dad is gone, after having crashed a plane in February and passing in April. I'm just... sad and tired.
Mark VandeWettering 📡@BethBarnes Two years ago, I got a call from my brother and ended up driving six hours in the middle of the night on Christmas Day to be with him in the hospital, and he passed away on Jan 3rd. I was glad I could be with him, but the holidays aren't always easy for me. It sounds like you are good at caring for others but not yourself. I hope you can find some peace and love in the holiday. Here's hoping #joinin is a part of that.
@k6hx Thank you for those kind wishes. Your experience took my breath away. I'm glad you could be with him too, and I'm so sorry about that monumental loss. Changed holidays in this way are... odd and full of a strange pressure. I wish you peace and love as well.
