Anyone in #birding know what these are? I found them on my Flickr from a while back and the Merlin app isn’t coming up with anything close 🪶🤔
@wiscomestique I have 10 of them in my flock. They come in different colors, but black with white wings is predominant in the wild. Technically speaking, they aren't ducks but are their own special kind of waterfowl, native to South America. They're kinda semi domesticated for farms and homesteads (for meat, eggs, companionship, and garden pest control), but can also have invasive wild populations in some areas.
@Nickittynic Ahh thanks! I think the South America part was what had thrown me off because I saw them in Ohio. They’re absolutely beautiful! 😄
