Fellow new Mastodon users—I just discovered that when people like or boost the posts you’ve enjoyed + amplified (but didn’t create yourself) you do *not* get any notifications (thanks to husband sitting next to me boosting @everywhereist post I’d shared).

So keep boosting + amplifying great posts (and don’t assume it’s not being valued and shared onwards), even if you don’t get engagement. If we want folks to abandon $8chan, we must help others find good follows!

@jelasher @everywhereist You do get in-app notifications when your posts are boosted and shared if you turn those notifications on. Here are some examples from my notification feed. Does that help?

I believe you can turn this on in settings. May differ depending on the Mastodon server you're using?
