I'm curious, where is the media stored for Mastodon? On the server/instance it was posted from? Is it cashed on other servers?

@ChiefMcGill I believe it depends on the server... Some of them store locally, some use an object storage provider (Amazon S3, Exoscale, Wasabi, Google Cloud, or anything else that is S3-compatible or OpenStack Swift-compatible API's)...
