Hello everyone 😺

Here is my (updated) #introduction.

I am an American living in Europe just trying to figure out life. I like to post funny little things I see or like, can be a bit random at times. My interests are #gaming, #cooking, ethical nonmonogamy, and nature. My main goal is to live a calm and quiet life with my husband and cats.

Nice to be here :)

@CatsAndCrows Welcome to Mastodon! Our daughter loves her Montessori school! Given your gaming and education interests, I’d love to hear your thoughts about how games impact kids’ development.
@matt That's great to hear :) A bit of screen time isnt going to rot your child's brain, but its better to limit it as much as possible, esp < 3 years. 30 min while you make a healthy dinner isn't going to hurt the kid. For older kids, games can be a great way to bond with the family, and I strongly believe they can be appreciated as a form as art and have many teachable moments. The most important thing is making sure it is appropriate for your child and not over-doing screen time in general.
@CatsAndCrows Thanks for this! We keep entertaining the idea of getting our seven-year-old a Switch, but I worry about whether the screen time would dampen her interest in reading...
