My personal guess though: I think he's gotten tired of being in charge of a dumpster fire, having constant demands, complaints, and critics for every decision he's personally made, while the company is hemorrhaging money. Maybe he'll appoint Catturd and LibsOfTikTok as joint CEOs, maybe it'll be Jason Calcacanis and David Sacks. But either way, he gets to fob off responsibility before the likely bankruptcy of Twitter so that Elon was failed, he didn't fail himself.
