As a #teacherlibrarian, one day into my #librarymastodon experience, I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far 😄. It’s been more about Mastadon and anti-bird site than anything, but I’m looking forward to connecting about #books and #Middleschool. As an #introduction to each topic, here are my plans for the New Year that I sneak peeked to kids yesterday. I have one goal in my #SchoolLibraries life - “Bring ‘em in”. Everything else will follow …

@BridgetBryson Tip: follow hashtags of things you are interested in.
Or, if you dislike the migration posts, use a filter.

@BridgetBryson You can filter out any post containing the words you set as a filter.
You can tweak it to hide post behind a CW ot hide them completely. You can also set it to expire after a certain period.

I'm not sure if you can setup filters from the app (I use #Tusky), but it can be done in the browser for sure.

It's also possible to mute certain accounts, temporarily or permanently.

@LegoPink @BridgetBryson in Tusky, open Account Preferences. The filters you can change are at the bottom of that screen.
