Evan Greer 🏳️‍⚧️

I'm not planning to change my Twitter username from "Evan Greer is on Mastodon," which apparently may or may not violate Musk's latest anti-speech policy of banning promotion of alternative social media sites so...

...getting banned on Twitter feels like it's a matter of when not if at this point.

Can folks give this a boost so others here can find me? Time to rebuild!

We've reached the point of refusing to disperse since the order is illegitimate... folk taking the pepper spray and tear gas (i.e. getting Twitter accounts nuked) simply becomes a badge of honor.

@me @evangreer it's not a perfect analogy, true. Physical violence at the hands of the state is not equivalent to institutional oppression at the hands of private actors.

But there's a certain camaraderie among everyone who has now found their line in the sand and is not going to be walked back from it but is instead waiting to see the (rhetorical) truncheons get swung.

@evangreer: If you want to, I'd be happy to make a John Mastodon redirection entry for you in the redirector I set up for the Future Encyclopedia Excerpt this morning. The idea is, you could post a link that looks like https://draugruin.pyronomicon.de/john/evangreer, which Twitter doesn't appear to currently block, and clicking on it, the user would see a greeting, a three-second countdown, and end up on your Mastodon page.

I can make it so that if there's something else in this link rather than "mastodon", you'll end up somewhere else rather than the story of John Mastodon. This is made in such a way that Twitter is currently not blocking it, and it'll probably take quite some time before it gets around to trying to.

On a side note, has anyone had an additional bird handle created with your Mastodon name? I had one created without my knowledge. No likes or tweets, but weird.

@evangreer btw there is no algorithm here, so boosting this wont help people find you,

people being inclined to search for your name will do the trick. but they have to know you put it together as one thing.

try the search box and type evangreer and hit enter, then people and see your results :)

@evangreer I was just suspended from #twitter this weekend when Elon suspended the journalists - I was suspended for calling him a bitch (because he’s anti free speech) - then I was in the spaces when he ran from questioning and shut them down because he cudnt threaten people into liking him (like he does elsewhere)… Elons working overtime to silence anyone who isn’t patting him on the head.

@evangreer I purposely made several tweets today linking to all the places that he says you can't link to. Damn I want to get banned. I even put, @elonmusk in the tweets. @mastodon.holeyfox.co

#elonmusk and #twitter are just not that important. I deleted tiktok and don't miss it and I won't miss Twitter either.
